Welcome to Living History NZ

Welcome to Living History NZ. Our aim is quite simply to bring New Zealand history alive. To share, celebrate and immerse in our great stories. Themed and costumed interpretation is our point of difference. Leave 2008, your mobile & PDA behind and 'step back in time'! Join us in one of our experiences soon.

Our current stage is Oamaru, a small town on the east coast of the South Island. Once a thriving international port, her buildings reflect that early ambition, now frozen in time.

"I will call Oamaru a maiden for she has youth and beauty. Then as I looked at your buildings rising in stone
of the utmost brilliance, of a kind I have never seen before, I thought Oamaru is a fair maiden that sits by the sea
holding the horn of plenty in her hand". Sir George Grey, NZ Premier, 1878
